Method of Regionalisation

According to the general principle a connection with the catchment area has to be made after determining the asset values of each land use type. Therefore the corresponding areas of each land use type have to be identified.

This case study gives examples based on two different scales. On the one hand data from the official statistics is used on mesoscale level.  On the other hand there are empirical data gained by interviews and questionnaires which are available on microscale level.

As the available data which had been used to determine the asset values for each land use type are not automatically based on the same classification as ATKIS classifies land use types difficulties may occur while intersection of the statistical-economic data and land use types. Often this is a problem of scale. More detailed classifications have to be generalised and translated to a less detailed classification.
