Flood risk mapping - Example Norway

In Norway, a separate, national flood inundation map is made for the 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 year flood. These maps contain information on the inundation areas with direct connection to the river, inundation areas without direct connection to the river (behind levee, culverts) and known historic events. The figure below shows an example of a Norwegian flood inundation map.

Norway publishes some  inundation maps in pdf-format as download information on the internet. (see download on the right border)
