Methodology

Characterisation of the induced flow phenonemon

For simulating hydrodynamics of flood the flow conditions have to be considered. The flow conditions reach from simple one-dimensional up to complex three-dimensional stream states, while the following have to be differentiated:

  • unsteady and steady flow,
  • uniform and non-unifrorm flow,
  • decelerated and accelerated flow,
  • supercritical and subcritical flow,
  • continuous and discontinuous flow change,
  • free-surface, pressure and weir discharge,
  • areas of effective discharge and zones with recirculation, and unmoving water,
  • parallel flow and secundary flow.
