Basic equations

The solution of the water shallow equation in an open channel is done by an energy theorem. This equation can be derived from the equation of the conservation of momentum, equation of energy conservation and the continuity equation. Primarily it is necessary to understand the difference of these three equations. They are based on the assumption that the fluid is homogeneous and incompressible, consequently the density is constant, and furthermore the equations are based on steady flow processes.
